Gardening Gone Wild Photo Contest

I haven't been blogging due to Wedderation Craziness '09, but couldn't resist the opportunity to share this picture. This ubiquitous beauty never fails to amaze me with the spectacular display it puts on each summer. "Dynamite" crepe myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica 'Whit II') is one of the more red crepes on the market, and although Zone 7 North Carolina is full of crepe myrtles of all shapes and sizes, this one really is dynamite!

  1. I am absolutely bowled over by this photograph. Crepe myrtle in all its glory and a fabulous photo too. I'm starting to think I'll be awfully lucky if I win anything in this contest.
